Astrid Gianduja topped with Crystallized Sugar

The recipe for this chocolate dates back to 1937. This praline is composed of a traditional gianduja made with hazelnuts from the Turkish coast region. The gianduja paste is blended with fresh butter to achieve an even smoother, softer texture. As a finishing touch, the praline is coated in a thin sugar glaze. 

This praline is a tribute to princess Astrid of Sweden, who was Queen of the Belgians as wife of King Leopold III. She tragically lost life during a holiday in the Swiss mountains, but will always remain in the heart of the Belgian people as a loving and caring Queen.
